Physical Therapist and General Practitioner Diagnostic Partner Program
Project Description
There are currently no test to confirm whether someone has hEDS. The diagnosis is done by looking a person's medical history and performing physical examination. This can be a challenge for clinicians who do not regularly see patients with this condition. The main objective of this project is to bring together a work group of general practitioners and physical therapists to develop a training and certification to complete an evaluation for Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS). A companion training for general practitioners to use that evaluation is assigning a medical diagnosis and working with the patient to manage their care.
